Transfer Students
The SouthEast Florida Engineering Education Consortium (SEFEEC) is a collaborative effort of Florida Atlantic University (FAU),
Florida International University (FIU), Broward Community College (BCC), Indian River Community College (IRCC), Miami-Dade
College (MDC), and Palm Beach Community College (PBCC), to identify appropriate courses that will count towards an Associates
(AA) degree and then transfer to an engineering program at either FAU or FIU.
SEFEEC formulated detailed lists of transfer credits from the individual community college programs to specific engineering
programs at FAU and FIU. At this time, no such list exists for the FAU Geomatics Engineering program. However, SEFEEC does list
transfer credits that are compatible with any engineering program in the State of Florida. These transfer credits are referred
to as Common Coursework - The Lower 48.
Please Note: As the FAU Geomatics Engineering program develops there may be more courses added to
the "Lower 48". Always consult with an academic advisor or call the department office for the most current information.
If you have been accepted into the Geomatics Engineering program at FAU, and wish to take a course at a
community college, you must complete the "Transient Student" form available online.
To access and complete the form:
- Go to: www.facts.org
- Mouse over "Transfer Services" in the left menubar
- Click on the "Transient Student Form" from the pullout menu
- Click continue
- Select your home school "Florida Atlantic University"
- Input your student ID and PIN/Password
- Select program "civil engineering undergraduate" (This is a temporary entry for now)
- Complete the form
Transfer students from other Universities, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as part of the FAU admissions process.
Students with additional questions regarding transfer to the FAU Geomatics Engineering BSGE program should call or e-mail the
department office.
